Digital Download: .stl 3D resin printer files: 'Round Honeycomb Sections', for pen blank casting!
Digital download of cylindrical honeycomb sections for casting pen blanks. .stl file for 3D printing
* This is an .stl file digital download only - NOT a printed model, blank, or pen. It has been extensively tested and used with resin 3D printers. Results with FDM printers are unknown
* Due to the size of the file, it has been compressed and made into a zip file. It will need to be unzipped after purchase and download
* Native dimensions are approximately 5.25" X .75"
* Resizing of file can be accomplished using a slicer program, including converting inches to mm if necessary.
* Once printed, it will fit in a 3/4" PVC pipe to be used for pen blank casting
* Depending on the size of your printer's build plate, multiple honeycomb structures can be printed simultaneously. We recommend using a flex plate for easy and damage free removal of the prints from the build plate.
* For printing a cylindrical honeycomb insert with superior turning properties, we suggest using a 50/50 mix of ANYCUBIC® Tough Resin and ANYCUBIC® ABS Like Resin Pro 2. We have found this mix to be superior in every way and will produce an easy to turn and polish ring blank with no chipping properties.
*Using the above mixture will render a slightly flexible insert, which is what you want. Do not over cure the prints with UV light! It should only take around 1.15 minutes to cure in a cure station. Over-curing will create a brittle insert, which in turn, will create a 'chippy' blank.
